Gingerbread cookies, Bridget Jones and two little crazy monkeys.

My love's niece (8) and nephew (5) visited us with their mum yesterday, for a gingerbread cookie baking session. How come youngsters have so much energy? And always have to shout instead of talking? They're sweet kids, but I fear I have too little patience.. I am so not wanting any kids in a looong time! I have enough "babies", my guinea pigs. We gave away two of them to our visitors, as birthday presents. So now we have Pinky and Tresko left of the babies and of course lovely Monster and cutiepie Lilo.

Saw the new Bridget Jones movie yesterday. I absolutely adore the books, and the first movie was pretty good also. This one I can't really make up my mind about. They've done some major changes from the book, some obvious, others not so obvious. The whole point about the books in my opinion, is Bridget's not very trustworthy reencountings of events (a diary will always be subjective), ie. Rebecca the "Barracuda" wanting Mr. Darcy (Bridget doesn't exactly portray her very nicely). In this movie in particular, a lot of that subjectivity is lost, which is only natural in a movie.. but the story looses some very funny points, sadly. BUT the movie has added some unexpected things also, that are almost equally funny. And the touch of slapstick is also.. very fun. Hilarious fight between Cleaver and Darcy!

*sigh* Very, very tired now... the movie was a late night showing (started 11.30) and I was home around 2 am. And was awoken at 7.45 am by love's nephew (they spent the night here) yelling, "Mommy, I've made poopy, come wipe!" at the top of his lungs.. haha. kids...
