Cake, candy and Beetle.
My parents, grandma and sister came to visit today, to celebrate my birthday. They were unable to come last weekend because mum had night shifts, so they decided to keep me company today instead.
We had lots of cake and candy! I had already bought too much at Lidl, so of course I had easter eggs for everyone. And mum brought lots of candy too, in case I didn't have any for easter. Duh... So now I have enough candy for a year, at least!
She had also bought two Tolkien books for me for my birthday, which was very sweet of her. But actually, the thing that she brought that really made me skip with joy, was... My old Beetle radio car! My dad bought it for me when I was a toddler, and managed to wreck it before I ever had the chance to try it. And didn't fix it either... That's probably the biggest disappointment of my childhood, seeing that cool yellow beetle do all kinds of cool tricks and not be able to try them myself. But now I have it here with me. It's still cool-looking! Even if it never works again, it's cool. But Simon, the car crazed friend, says he'll try and fix it. That would be amazing if we could get it to work again! :D
Ooh and I found almost the same Beetle online. Look here! Mine's an early 80's version, with a tad bit smaller wheels and not so large a cow-catcher (that's what that thingy in the front is called here, I have no idea what you call it.)
