Coroplast and walking miles.

Not that it's very interesting, but I ordered (finally) a sheet of coroplast today. It'll be here on wednesday, and I will start building my coroplast and cubes cage for the piggies right away. I can't wait! It'll be soo cool! And huge. Almost four times the space they have now. I will take photos, of course, so that you can see how it turns out.

Saturday I worked at the catering thingy. It was kind of interesting. I've served at private parties when I was younger, but nothing like this. Yikes, hectic much? Not a lot of time for breaks. Or even to sit down. In eight hours, the only time I sat down for a second was when I went to the loo. And even that was done in a hurry! *lol*
But it was fun. And there's something strangely satisfying with being physically exhausted when done with work (I got off at three in the morning/night). The payment is OK, but I wouldn't get much more than that anywhere else either. And I've worked for less before. So it's completely OK. And if I do get a steady job there, it will be very flexible, as in I will be able to fit it with my studies, and that's worth more than the wage. Oh, and not to mention the free exercise! I must have walked halfway from here to Oslo (a two hour drive).

ooo what else? Trying to come up with something to do for my birthday next weekend. I don't know what I want to do, not sure IF I want to do anything. I don't see the point anymore. It's just another day like the rest of them. Or maybe not, but I'm not as excited as I used to be when I was younger. I don't mind getting older, I'm not that old yet, but it's just... something that happens, like it's no biggie. The only thing I really want for my birthday, is flowers from my love. He never buys me flowers, mostly because I've told him it's silly to spend that much on something that withers away within a week. But I love having flowers in the apartment. I got some tulips when we held our NYE party, and I almost gave them names, that's how much I loved having them here. And I was truly sorry when I had to chuck them out.
I'm weird like that. I like to name inanimate objects, love believing they have a life of their own. I think I watched Jim Henson's christmas movie (with those toys that came alive when the humans left the room) a couple of times too much. Take my computer, I've named it Floppy. Or technically, this is Floppy the second, as Floppy the first died some years ago. And our car is another example. Pea. It's not even green, it's bright red. But it's still Pea. It's small and and doesn't always behave. And everyone knows peas don't behave, they're impossible to get on your fork.

And speaking of Pea, she had a little incident last friday. We had to go shop for a white shirt for me to work in, and decided to take the car as it was sleety and downright icky outside. Apparently Pea thought so too, and stopped as we were about to drive into a roundabout (well, not CRASH with it, but you get what I mean). Completely dead, no reaction from the engine. Oh shit... On with the emergency blinkers, run into the gas station conveniently next to where Pea stopped, get help pushing Pea into the gas stations' parking lot. Call Simon (car crazed friend). "Help! Pea stopped!"
Simon rushes over, brags about how old Fords like him and turns the key. Pea purrs like a cat. Silly car! She was seriously dead when love tried get her started again, but as soon as Simon was there, she was happy as a clam. Apparently old Fords do like Simon. We like Simon too, he knows how to fix cars. Especially old Fords like Pea. So yah... Simon said he'd have a look at her when the weather gets warmer. And I'm actually considering buying/borrowing at the library a book on car mechanics so that I can teach myself a little something on how to do the basic things, 'cause I suspect I will need it. Don't think I can do it? Bah... I can be handy some times, I swear! Logic in the maths sense of the word, no, but fixing things? Sure! Or, at least I need to believe I can, 'cause if I don't, then I certainly can't do anything.
