Being busy and planning a possible road trip.
I apologize for not updating that often these days. I have a ton of photos sitting on my desk that I want you to see also, but I'm... late with my stupid home exam. Or, deadline is on Wednesday next week so I still have a few days, but this ended up being frightfully last minute work. Again... I always do that. I have no real dicipline unless I have a big, scary deadline hanging over my shoulder. So.. Photos will show up eventually, some time next week maybe. Although when I'm done with this paper, I need to start cramming for the oral exam in litterature history, which I've also neglected.. Bad Kjersti! *smacks herself*
Another thing that's on my mind these days is the possibility for a summer vacation. I would love to have one, and I know exactly where I want to go. Germany, of course! We're considering taking Pea with us over to Denmark (by boat, don't feel like driving all the way around) and spend two-three days driving until we get to my family in Germany. It would be possible to do in one stretch, a seven hour drive, but that would mainly be driving on the autobahn. The autobahn in Germany is, to me, completely crazy. There's no speed limit, and even Opa (my grandpa) keeps up the speed there. Pea wouldn't be able to. I mean, she can do 100 kmph, 120 kmph downhill (LMAO!), but we're talking 140-150 kmph on average there. We would be slowing down the whole lane, and not to mention... the risk of over-heating and having an engine fire. So, we would take the smaller roads, drive through some nice little villages and have one or two nights on b&b's. A little road trip. Going to go to the library today to see if they have a map book so that we can at least have a little look.
Oh, and the best thing about the whole deal? If we went, we wouldn't tell my aunt. Again... *evil laughter* It would be a surprise visit, just pull up to her house and honk. We would have to tell my grandparents in advance though, 'cause they're a little too old and fragile to take another surprise like that, but auntie? She sure can handle another one.
See, we've done it once before! *big grin* Mum vacations in Germany every summer, and two years ago, love and I made a sneaky plan. I had just gotten home from a months visit there, and mum was leaving in a week. I felt totally miserable, the way you feel miserable after getting home from a great vacation, and I also found it very sad that I couldn't be with my mum and auntie at the same time (they're both some of my best friends). So love suggested we looked into going there after them, as a surprise visit. We booked the flight one day after mum's, looked up a nice b&b close to my auntie and found train charts from the airport to where auntie lives. This was before I moved in with love, but I was visiting him after not seeing him for a month, and then he came with me home to keep me company there for two weeks (or, that's what we told mum).
Anyway, we flew down, hopped on the train and a few hours later I was on auntie's doorstep. Oh, the fun that was! Of course, ever since that, she now always says to me "so, you coming over tomorrow or what?"
And, if I get it my way I will. Without telling her. Shssss it's a secret!
