Norwegian litterature, a sad story.
As I've repeated countless times now, I have an oral exam on tuesday. Norwegian litterature.
Why does it have to be so dull? Is the problem the actual selection done by the professors in this part of my study? Or is it actually that dull? I'm talking about the older norwegian classics. Bah! I'd much rather be reading Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde. Or even Shakespeare. Heck, I read Shakespeare already when I was 14! I think I need to take english litterature classes instead. Except it's not a part of my bachelor, so I'd have to do it in two years from now if I want to do it at all.
Maybe it is because Jane Austen seems more exotic than Bjørnson. Or maybe I just haven't read the right books, as I said, it could be my professors have picked the wrong books. But no way in hell will I be reading Garborg! The language itself is so archaic, so... damn annoying... No, I'll have to do with the ressume.
Not all the books we have to read for this exam are bad, I have to mention that. But the older ones all are... extremely dull. In my humble opinion of course.
