Vekter fun
Wanna know how the whole vekter-thingy went? Read on! :)
Apart from the fact that the costume was waaay too large for me and made me look like the Michelin man in person, I had a great time (sorry, that means no photos for you! *lol*).
Getting the mace staffs into tiny Pea proved to be somewhat of a challenge, but we managed it. And joked about Pea being quite modern for 19th century guards (but not very modern for 21st century people, it's almost 20 years old.)
It seemed like people really appreciated having the old fashioned guards (us) at the event. We met loads of smiles and kind and curious comments. And not to mention, leading a 2000+ people parade was pretty awesome! I caught a glimpse of it when we had reached a hill top and I looked over my shoulder to see if I could see how long it was. All I saw was an unending row of people with torches, it was gorgeous!
Oh, and then the fireworks final afterwards... priceless!
All in all the event was very successfull. I mean, half the town must have showed up for the fireworks and everyone had a smile on their face.
And the weather stayed nice all day, even though the forecast had predicted rain. Hah!
So, even though I feel that I looked like an idiot, I'm happy we did it. It was fun! Of course, wearing costumes always is... ;)
