Sorry...
... for not posting an update for a week. But it's been a very busy week! I've been working most of the time and had a visitor this weekend, so no time to go online.
Another thing is that my computer has completely spazzed and will soon be placed in a very dark, lonely corner (as in the closet). It shuts down a minute or two after starting it, which of course is annoying and makes it impossible to use.
But, Love has borrowed a kick-ass computer from work that he'll be using as long as he works there, so I get to borrow his old computer. It's a notch better than my old, and it's the one I'm using now, but I haven't gotten around to transfer my own stuff over to it. So it doesn't feel like my own yet... bah. But OK, enough of my boring computer problems. I mean, who doesn't have those themselves? Computer problems I mean. Computers are bad!
Work? It's coming along fine. My co-workers are a charming, funny bunch of people and as soon as I learn the rutines, I won't be bored when there's periods of no-customers.
I'm loving working with people again, it's something about it that's just... fun! Most customers are polite and nice, and some even somewhat flirty. I have, for instance, discovered that being very nice to foreign men/boys... well, they take it as flirting. But hey, I got tipped! *lmao*
The free coffee at work is a bit dangerous though. I am very sensitive to caffeine, and after two cups (it's so yummmmy!), I'm a bit hyper and very chatty. It works with the customers, though.
My shift Thursday was a bit too much. For the last week, we've had really warm and sunny (lovely) weather, and on Thursday the AC crashed. At the end of my 8 hour shift, the temperature started sneaking below 30 degrees C, but most of the day it was up at around 32-34. Whoa! I drank about 4 liters of water that shift, and still had a band of crazy monkeys discoing inside my head.
And Thursday was Midsummer day here, which is always celebrated by BBQ'ing, preferrably outdoors. Love dragged me along to meet up with friends right after work, even though I would have preferred to just 'lapse on the couch.
But this weekend was great! Love had a friend coming over that he hadn't seen in ages (and I hadn't met her at all!). I was a bit skeptical, but all unneccessary. She's one of the sweetest people I've met. And she loves books just as much as Love and I, so we hit all the book stores in town. Then we went out to BBQ and go for a swim. Like I said earlier, we've had a week now with amazing weather. And Saturday was perhaps the loveliest.
But the water was still too cold for my taste. I always put my feet in to check, and if it still feels cold after a minute or two, there's no way in hell I'm going to submerge myself further. But Love and Bilbo (her nickname) are fullblood vikings, so they went for a quick swim. Loonies, I tell you. I completely blame my German heritage for being so frozen. I mean, I'm only half viking, how can anyone expect me to be cold resistant? So I stayed on land, being the land lubber I am.
Yesterday (as in Sunday), Love, Bilbo and I took the ferry over to the other side of the fjord and drove to Sweden to stock up on meat and cheese for the summer. If you live in Norway, you have no trouble understanding why. Meat is expensive. And a lot cheaper in Sweden. So a whole lot of us do this. Fill our fridges with meat. I mean, two kilos of chicken filets for 90 swedish kr? Not bad. Here you pay 190kr for one kilo.
Anyway, it was a great day for a drive. And Pea behaved better than expected. Weeee!
Speaking of Pea (the car), I'm set on getting my drivers liscence now. The extra money I make from working now? Saving it up for taking the neccessary lessons to get my liscence.
I'm tired of having Pea standing there and me being unable to drive her. And another thing, if Love and I want to take a road trip through Europe next summer, it would be nice to switch drivers every now and then.
Oh well, we'll see...
