Self discipline, me? Apparently not.
I was just going to pick up a book I had put on hold at the library and get Love's neffypoo something for his birthday.
Yeah, well, I kinda... swung by my local crafts shop also. Bad idea.
They had new beads. Purty beads. Big packs of various lampwork/two-tone beads in matching colours. Which I had to get, naturally. Not just one pack, but four.
Hey, have to start making Yule pressies, you know! And mum's birthday is coming up also.
Well, that's my excuse. I'm unfortunately of the human specie "oooh pretty must have!". I almost bought a big Cheer bear Care Bear (that's the one with the rainbow! weeeee!) today also, but well... I don't need it. I just want it, and that's something else.
I also feel absolutely rich when I get my paycheck and always end up being puzzled about where the money went when they're gone.
Like I said, self discipline... But the only completely unneccesary selfish purchases I made today was actually a book I had been looking for. "Erotic norwegian folk tales". They're the ones that weren't fit for the PG collection collected by Asbjørnsen & Moe. It's not p*rn (trying to avoid the worst google hits here), but cheeky jokes and generally lousy humour. But still fun. And a lot of cutting off "fellows". And making them larger at will.
And dayum, I had no idea that rude norwegian words like "kuse", "fitte" and "kukk" were that old?
Another discipline issue... I should be writing on my short story. It's due wednesday, but I haven't gotten into the "groove" yet and that makes it hard writing. Besides, my story takes place in London, where I've never actually been. So I need to do research. I've picked up a couple of travel guides at the library and will look into them tonight or tomorrow.
What do I know of London already?
There's a big clock named Big ben.
The Tower of London bridge can open up and has huge counter-weights underground.
Harrods supposedly can get you anything.
If you feel like ranting, go to Picadilly Circus.
The busses are red.
And the taxies have extreme moveability.
Yeah... I think I need to do some research.
