Norwegian "Russ"

Inspired by this entry in karla, the Texpatriate's blog, I'm doing my own entry on the phenomenon "Russ".

Russ is a Norwegian, wacky tradition. For a whole month, the high school graduates will dress up in overalls and do all kinds of weird stuff in addition to drinking too much and driving around in painted vans with annoying horns (or, if they're in Bærum, busses with enough speakers to power a stadium concert). Of this I don't know much, as my friends didn't bother with van nor bus. But I can tell you about my russ experience nontheless.
Let's start with my overall. I absolutely loved it! And spent five hours ironing on different stickers.

This is my overall. Yes, of course I've kept it! It's bright red, not this icky pink-ish colour my webcam interpreted it to be.

The right leg. It says "Music" because that was my major.

The left leg, with my name on it. And on the back of the legs it has "Russ" and the year I was russ. Again, the colours aren't right here, the letters are bright white and the overall RED, not pink. See that crown on top of the "K" in my name? I named myself "Princess Kjersti" and had a tiara and cepter as accessories. The arrow and the very naughty "Admittance for free" sticker in the crotch area isn't something I'm very proud of, but I thought it was funny when I first did it. Not that it mattered, I was a very un-naughty russ.

Here's a detail from the back, one leg, upper thigh. I was particulary proud of this, with the little scooba diver ironed on top of the Titanic image.

Another detail, from the front of the overall. I had loads of these weird little characters all over my overall. Which is why it took me five hours to iron them all on!

OK, so wasn't it incredibly icky to wear that thing for a whole month without washing it, you may ask? Nah... Not really. I usually wore the top part hanging down and had a new tshirt or top every day. And I didn't roll around in the dirt like some of my fellow russ did. I did get fairly soaked a few times though. We had a "Water day" at school, during "Terror Week" and since most of the first and second graders (we don't call them freshmen and juniors here in Norway), we took it out on each others instead. Oh, the fun! Terror week was hilarious! We had a "Clown day" also, where we painted first graders and of course the "Water day" where we soaked them. And ourselves. Which can almost count as a sort of washing the overall?

The hat. Let's talk about that. Here's mine! (please ignore sleepy morning face Kjersti)

It has my russ name on it and everything :D And the tassle with the tokens I got for doing idiotic things. Because doing stupid things, is half the fun of being a russ.
My tassle had:
A doll shoe: for wearing the overall in a PE class
A wine cork: for drinking a bottle of wine in 20 minutes. (I drank Peach Canei because it had less alcohol, I was worried about getting too drunk. I will never ever drink that vile drink again! It's disgusting!)
A pacifier: For kissing a first grader
Candy lips: For kissing a fellow russ
A Thorn badge: For kissing a Thorn employee and saying "Thank you, Thorn!"
A pink feather: For kissing a person of the same sex.
A popsicle stick: For going for a swim outdoors before May 1st. This is the one I'm most proud of, as that water was DAMN cold. There was SNOW on the shore!
A Russ Card: For handing out Russ Cards to members of "Stortinget" (the parliament)
A smiley button: For talking with "Sinnataggen" in Frognerparken for 20 minutes.
A piece of "matpakke" paper: For stealing a first grader's lunch and eating it. I was a bit sneaky with this one, because I made a deal with a first grader about this in advance. She was a very good actor though, and seemed very displeased about having her lunch stolen. Hahaha...
A German flag: For speaking a foreign language one whole day (German). English didn't count.
Hubba Bubba paper: For chewing a whole pack of hubba bubba in class for one whole hour. Very interesting to answer questions from the teacher with my mouth full of gum, yes. Not to mention how my jaw hurt afterwards.
A piece of tape: For not talking one whole day. No one believed I could make this, but I did.
A condom: For buying condoms using sign language. To me, this was extremely embarrassing because my friends made me do it where I worked! Ick...
A knot: For not sleeping for 24 hours.

I also tried eating a big mac in four pieces, but I don't like hamburgers and I don't have a very big mouth, so it didn't work out.

I wasn't a very party party russ. None of my friends were. We were more of the "wine and intellectual conversations" russ. Hahaa... It was a lot of fun though, and a very social thing. I wouldn't have missed it for all the money in the world :)

**edit: There are russ that belong to the Christian russ groups, they don't drink and use their time as russ to try and save their fellow russ sinners. I was not one of them, in case you were wondering. I must say I belonged to the "sinners", but was less sinful that some of my fellow russ? Most of us music russ were. We had too much school work going on to be able to get drunk every day.

Warm, lovely day.

Today was the first hot-enough-to-be-outside-in-a-tshirt day and it was grrreat! We barbequed again and the water was so clear and looked so tempting that I really wanted to try it. Not that it would be warm enough to swim in, noooo way...

I had to do some errands in town today and with it being so warm, I also got a chocolate ice cream. And walked around with chocolate on my upper lip without anyone telling me about it! I looked like a frikkin PIG and no one had the decency to descretly say "Hey, you've got something on your lip." Bah... Evil people, that's for sure! I mean, sure, we don't talk to strangers here in Norway, but there is something called common decency. I'm not a pig. I don't want to look like one either, so a little hint if I have something smeared all over my face would be appreciated!

A big, warm thank you...

... goes to felinevamp! She sent me an Amazon gift certificate for answering a simple question. And, being the bookaholic I am, it naturally made my day!
So visit her blog and tell her how cool she is!
(I tried to take a photo of one of the piggies with a party hat on it, but they weasled their way out of it.. sorry, Miaow!)

Pigtures!

Took some more pigtures with my webcam today.

Here's Monster. He's much more golden, but the webcam didn't catch his colours so well.

Here's Monster from above. He's chubby! Like piggies should be :)

Here he's saying hello to everyone. No, I'm not sniffing his bum (ew!), in case you were wondering.

Pinky! Look at her darling nose!

Another Pinky-pig shot.

Tresko trying to get away ;)

Another Tresko-pigture. She's a bit on the wild side, so keeping her still long enough to press print screen isn't easy.

One last pigture:

Tresko!

I know, I know... shameless way of getting your attention. But they're so cute! :)

Ladies aren't easy to manage.

We're doing the last big project of this semester, a film analysis. I chose "Dogville", directed by Lars von Trier, and am a part of our class' "dogma films" group.
The group is coming over tomorrow to watch "Dogville" and that's fine. But, what to serve a group of women? 'Cause if you serve something not directly healthy like waffles or muffins, there's always going to be that one who passes up on eating anything because she's on a diet. And then every other woman will feel guilty about eating anything themselves, even though they have no reason to. And you'll end up with no one eating anything. Well, almost.
I'm serving veggies with a sour cream dip. Perfect film company, if you ask me. And healthy yummy at the same time!

Guys are simpler that way. If I make waffles when for instance we have Simon over, the platter usually ends up empty shortly after. Unless I've made such amounts that it simply is too much. Not Simon nor Love worry much about eating that second or third plate of waffle like I do. Bah...

Billy Bob Thornton

I've seen three Billy Bob movies. All of which had detailed s*x scenes (trying to avoid the pervs here! *lol*). Does he have some kind of s*x requirement when chosing a role? Wacky man...
Oh, in case you were wondering how I got into thinking about this? Saw "Monster's Ball" yesterday, and "Bad Santa" a week ago.

Evil swan!

We don't have a garden, so if we want to barbeque, we have to do a picnic barbeque. This is usually fun and lovely. Except when Mother Nature's more evil creatures decide to pick a fight with us!
We had just gotten the food on the barbeque and were admiring the scenery as a swan started swimming in our direction. I, kidding, tell my Love "Look out, he's coming to get us!". Little did I know that was exactly its evil plan! It swam up to the beach we were sitting on and looked really menacing. And looked like it would jump on shore and come and get us. We waited a few minutes, but it was still there, sending us deadly glares. So, we made ourselves look bigger by stretching out our arms and jumping. No luck. The ruddy beast just started hissing at us!
It was evil, I tell you! Pure evil! Anyway, it finally swam away when we started stomping and yelling. But evil creature, no doubt about that! We named it George.

I've been getting more, weird hits today BTW. How come I suddenly get all these wacky search engine hits? "during vacation horny brother and sister share a bed naked" ? I can assure you there's nothing remotely like that here! Yikes!

Whoa! Search engine hits!

I was a very popular lady yesterday. People don't usually stumble across my page by google, but I suddenly had a lot of them yesterday.

Can i use my eyetoy as a webcam on msn messenger?
Absolutely. I'm doing it myself. Works pretty darn good, if you ask me. Just look at the photos here.

drivers to use the eyetoy as a webcam a guide to this
Well, I don't know if there's a guide, but I downloaded my drivers from driverguide.com and did this:
Hooked up the webcam => Control panel => Add hardware => found webcam on the list => chose it and pointed Windows in the right direction by telling it which location I had unzipped the drivers to. Easy peasy.
Or follow the guide I found here. Why didn't I do that? Oh well, it works.

funny tests
For funny tests, visit one of these pages:
Quizfarm.com
Rum & Monkey
Tickle.com also has some funny tests, but you need to register.

Inconsiderate People
They're annoying, but what can you do?

Here's the entry about that. Also a lovely Rum & Monkey gadget. What's you ghetto name?

Crazy monkeys
WTF? No crazy monkeys here! I swear! ;)

And no Olsen-twins hugging either! Sorry! Why don't you do a google picture search? You can find anything doing that :)

Animal list.

Here's a list of animals I would love to have:
1. A herd of guinea pigs. Yes, more than what I already have.
2. Two cats. One ragdoll and one siamese. Miaow!
3. A pug
4. A great dane
5. A Scottish Highland cow. Preferably a miniature one, like miniature horses. Not that I've ever seen that though...
6. A talking parrot
7. A tan piglet that always stayed a piglet
8. A panda
9. Two giraffes
10. And last, but not least, a donkey.

Yes, I know it's not very realistic. First off, some of the animals don't even exist in the size I want them. Second, some of them aren't exactly pet material. And third, it would require a lot of work, which I'm of course not willing to put into it. Not that much work anyway. I have enough work with my piggies. And they crave more than enough food themselves, I can't imagine how feeding that crowd would be. Anyone know the kilo price on bamboo sprouts?

Some piggie photos!

Blogger was stupid yesterday, so I was unable to post anything. Grrr...
But here are two piggies of mine! Taken with print screen from my webcam.

This is Pinky. And me, with my new hair cut, although it wouldn't seem new to you as I never did take any photos of me when it had grown terribly long again. Hah!
But see, Pinky's developed brown ears and darker spots around her nose! If you look at the baby photos I have somewhere around here, she's all pink and white. Hence the name.

This furry, blubby thing is my teddy piggie, Lilo. After she had the babies, she was slim and had a lot of extra skin on the sides. Not anymore! That's all been filled up with flub! She's one porky piggie! Or maybe she just seems to be, because Monster is a tiny pig. We love her anyway.

I hardly slept last night. Dunno why, but I had one twist-and-turny night. Around three a.m I woke up to the smell of something burning, but it was only a whiff, nothing very near by. (Most likely it was, as I read about in the papers this morning, the three cop cars that got torched during the night. The time fits and it's just across the canal from here.) But still it really unsettled me. I'm completely hysterical about fires, after a traumatic experience as a kid.
Germany has more violent thunderstorms than what we have here in Norway, and one time, I think I was around four or five years old, a lightening bolt struck Oma & Opa's neighbour's house when we were visiting. I remember being on Oma's arm, standing in the kitchen, when the ground shook and the loudest noise I had ever heard occured.
The building that got struck was a farm house, and they kept hay in the attick. Which of course caught fire. And I can still remember the images of the raging fire against a black sky, hear the sounds of fire trucks and... Ick... Both thunderstorms and fire completely freaks me out, even today. I've loosened up a little regarding the thunderstorms, but not the fire.
Heh... I remember I always kept a bag of my favorite toys next to my bed after that incident, so that I could easily grab it if we had to flee the house. Ick...

Exam, studying and beer?

The reason why I've been a no-show here the last two days is probably obvious. That stupid litterature science oral exam.
Studied with manic frenzy both Monday and most of Tuesday up to the actual exam.
Of course I missed that ONE little shitty text I had to talk about and never have I been sooo happy for my occasionally reliable elephant memory. I managed a B. Which of course I should be thrilled about because, a text I hadn't read since last autumn? Yikes!
But the examinator (?) told me I had probably done even better if I had gotten something I had actually read. Which was... everything else! Including Garborg! (yes, I ended up reading it)
Arrrghh!
But geez... I should really not be displeased. I'm just... annoyed. I got a B on the written paper too, BTW.

Anyway, after the last couple of days insane stress, we decided to celebrate. Two classmates came over to my place and we played some SingStar before we went out to a café where the whole class was gathered. It was nice! And fun to meet the class in a different setting also.
And I had half a beer. Bah... Didn't enjoy it much, no. Hence the half beer. Ick... I dunno why I ordered it in the first place, but I think I thought there was a chance that I liked it, since I've started drinking both coffee and wine since last time I had a beer. Nope.

Arrrgh! Inconsiderate people!

Our neighbours were partying loudly yesterday. If there's anything that'll keep me from falling asleep, it's a up-tempo, thudding bassline. It just... drives me mad! In a very negative way I mean. The hollering and drunk-screaming I can handle, but not the bassline!
So, around two a.m I'd had enough and called the cops on them. I really don't like ratting people out, but seriously? What about considering the fact that we're in a neighbourhood, where it's mostly families with small kids and dogs? No, no, to be lenient with such idiots... no way!
Oh, in case you wondered, in Norway it's supposed to be quiet at 11 p.m. Of course you can party longer than that, but not keep the whole neighbourhood up.

The annoying wedding bells.

We visited some friends of ours yesterday, a married couple. They've been married longer than I've been with Love, and got married way before I knew them. So, they showed us their wedding on tape (VCR)! There's nothing wrong with that, it's just all the stuff afterwards... But it looked really lovely and both bride and groom were gorgeously dressed and styled for the occasion. But that's not my problem with it. My problem... is the following discussion with Love. *sigh*
I mean, we do talk about everything in our relationship, including that subject, but I thought it was settled so far. Well, why not bring it up once again, shall we? The thing was that Silvia and Henning were at the same place, considering time, in their relationship back then as we are now. They'd been together for over two years and were the same ages as we are now. It was a little eerie.
I guess I'm just bothered about the constant hints from family about this. Hints, although not ment as hints, from friends is just... unnecessary. Peer pressure! Bah!
Yes, I've been with Love for some time now (closing in on three years), and yes, we live together, have bought furniture together and shared everything for almost two years now.
But that doesn't mean we have to marry.

But watching the tape was really neat. It looked very tempting, being an absolute princess for a day. And they did look too-adorable-for-words happy. I think I might reconsider my decision. Sometime in the distant future anyway. Hah...
Maybe if I get one of those tan little pigs! ;)

Norwegian litterature, a sad story.

As I've repeated countless times now, I have an oral exam on tuesday. Norwegian litterature.
Why does it have to be so dull? Is the problem the actual selection done by the professors in this part of my study? Or is it actually that dull? I'm talking about the older norwegian classics. Bah! I'd much rather be reading Jane Austen and Oscar Wilde. Or even Shakespeare. Heck, I read Shakespeare already when I was 14! I think I need to take english litterature classes instead. Except it's not a part of my bachelor, so I'd have to do it in two years from now if I want to do it at all.
Maybe it is because Jane Austen seems more exotic than Bjørnson. Or maybe I just haven't read the right books, as I said, it could be my professors have picked the wrong books. But no way in hell will I be reading Garborg! The language itself is so archaic, so... damn annoying... No, I'll have to do with the ressume.
Not all the books we have to read for this exam are bad, I have to mention that. But the older ones all are... extremely dull. In my humble opinion of course.

A meme, because there's still so much you don't know about me ;)

Shamelessly stolen from karla the Texpatriate, who stole it from Ben herself, that naughty lady.
OK, here it goes:

How do you feel about being naked?
Well, it's the opposite of being dressed? (and EEEEK! a huge spider dangling on the wall in front of me! Must kill!! That's the downside to living in a basement aparment. Spiders and other little critters easily find their way through our ground-level windows!)
OK, being naked... Sleeping naked is great! But I'm not the type to bounce around on nudie beach, all nekked in public. I could say that it's because I don't want sunburns certain places, but it's really just about me not feeling comfortable naked in front of people.

What is something scientists need to invent?
Well, if I had the brains for it, I'd make a a mold of inverted teeth (?) that you put in your mouth that would clean your teeth thoroughly using, dunno, ultra sound if that's possible? That way you wouldn't have to stress with flossing and yucky toothpaste taste when drinking juice.

Who do you blame for your mood today?
What mood am I in today? I don't think I'm in a mood at all? I'm sleepy. Bascially just got up. Pissed at the stupid neighbours who leave their dog out barking all frikkin day. Annoyed that I have to read both Bjørnson and Garborg today, because I don't feel like reading them. Feeling very needy for some social stimulance after having spent three days at home reading.
Both happy and frustrated that the weather is lovely outside, happy because... hey, who wouldn't be? Sunshine makes me smile! Frustrated because I have to stay here and read for my oral exam.

What should we do with stupid people?
Give them signs! I think it was George Carlin who said that. That way you'd be warned if you saw a person with a stupid-sign, and knew not to expect much.%2

There!

Everything is supposed to be up and working now, so enjoy! Some things could do with some tweaking, but I've toasted my brains enough for one day. *lol*

This was made using 1st page and sly tricks (it's free!).

Of course, Love told me yesterday that he has a liscenced Dreamweaver edition that I can use, but I guess that'll take some learning to use it. I'll have to work with that later, when I'm done with all the school assignments.

It's not completely done yet, I have for example not transformed my about/photos/links pages yet, but that'll have to wait, now I have to study for my oral exam.
But apart from the bugs, what do you think?

Passed!

Oh no! Blogger just ate my entry! Arrrrrrrrrgh!

Anyway, I just got a terribly formal email stating that the assignment/paper/article/thingy I turned in last week will be graded with a passing grade. The actual grade will be decided later this week and handed out on monday, in time for the oral exam.
Well, at least I passed! *phew*
It's been some years since last time I was graded and messured this way. I've completely forgotten how to be calm about it *lol*
Another thing is, I'm the youngest in my class. Most are 35 and up. I feel pretty damn inferiour due to that. I mean, what do I have to say compared to these older, more experienced classmates? Of course, I'm not an idiot. And I am conceived as much older than my actual age by most in my class. Not that that's an ideal of mine, but maybe that way I do get taken seriously sometimes.

So much to tell! I think...

Haven't had that much to tell in some days now, but suddenly it's all happening at once.

The literature analysis paper I handed in in February... we got the grades today. And... I passed! Not only did I pass, but got a B, which is waaaay more than what I hoped for considering how much I struggled with that bloody analysis. I'm very satisfied! :)

Got a call from the doc today. I went to have some tests done last week because I've had a cold for.. the longest time. Very unusual, and very very uncomfortable coughing that made me gulp for air. I litterally couldn't breathe, which is why I finally made an appointment.
Turns out that this time they did find something suspecious. Chlamydia pneumonia or something like that. No, it has nothing to do with the SDT, but it's the same family of bacteria/virus. This type is more common and most people will come across it in some form during their life.
It's an atypical throat/lunge bacteria thingy that can cause a whole range of different symptoms. Including my psycho cough. So now I'm on antibiotics. Yay, I love chomping on strange bacteria. :P Oh well, as long as it helps I'm happy. And I'm really happy they did find something so that I know the reason to why I feel shitty.
Only problem is... One shouldn't excercise with this bug in one's system. Bah.. nooo! It's not like I'm Miss Sporty, but to rid myself of my flubb I need to excercise regularly. So, I'll probably walk all around the island instead.

Had an unpleasant letter in the mail yesterday. The bill for the coroplast transport. It was four times the estimate the coroplast guy gave me! And an insane amount of money at that! I called him immediately and was prepared to get all hissy and stuff, but he had left for the day and I only briefly explained it to his secretary or whatever it was the woman was.
OK, so had to go to school this morning, but threw myself over the phone the minute I got home. Turns out he had already called the transportation firm and figured out that they had miscalculated the mass of the coroplast. Or, a comma error. Instead of 0.063 cubic metres, they had put 0,630 cubic metres.
*phew* So relieved now. I was so down in the dumps yesterday, worrying about where the f*** I'd get that money from. Ick... But, all good! I think... Waiting for the new bill.

Oh, and did I mention I passed on my frikkin literature analysis? They even said it was a very good one. Yikes!

Need for renewal

I am so terribly sick of this design. Feel like making a new one, but I'm too much of a html-idiot to really manage to make something. And using the blogger-templates isn't an option either, I want something original.

Anyone know any good and easy-to-understand html tutoring pages?

Uhm... I really don't like making up titles, ok?

I had some much needed social stimulance yesterday. Some friends invited us over for a BBQ, and with the weather being so lovely and all, it was a very welcome offer. OK, just to explain one thing first. It's NOT summer here yet. Not even very spring-like. It's still cold. But when the sun is out, one can live with it being cold. For the moment. And as the insane, loony vikings we are (well, I'm just half a viking, that's why I'm always freezing in this stupid country! bah!), we start BBQ'ing as soon as the snow has melted away. I think it's genetic or something.
Anyway, it was nice. I needed to get out a little.

My problem is that school is only one and a half day a week, the rest of the time I stay home and study alone. And that makes it hard meeting new people. Oh, and norwegians in general are hard to make friends with, we're all so up-tight you have no idea!
So in the soon-to-be-two-years I've lived here, I've only made a couple of friends, mostly through my Love. That is no way by far enough to give me the social stimulance I need. Heck, you need to talk to people to not go completely fruitcake! My Love has no problems with this, he's at work every day and gets to talk to people all the time, but I? Seldom. If I had a job it would help immensely, but the job market here is slooooow and there really isn't anything available at the moment. Bah... I don't think you can really understand how this is unless you've felt it yourself. Love is understanding and supporting, but I don't think he really gets it. Sometimes I feel like I'm just complaining about stuff, but this really is a problem and the only way to solve it for me is to get out more. But where? With whom? *sigh*
Poor Love, he's doing all he can. And feels guilty for "dragging me down here". But he didn't drag me! I wanted to live here! I completely and absolutely adore this town.
I'm sure things will get better eventually. I just have to stick it out. And besides, the BBQ season is already started *LOL*

The contents of my wallet.

What the title says, "the contents of my wallet".

First, the obvious:
Photos, of Love, family and friends
Visa card
Bus card
Student ID
20,50 NOK
Travel insurance card
Library card
Two receits

The not so obvious:
Tiny cow
LOTR: ROTK movie tickets
car park ticket from LOTR: ROTK movie night
"Universeum" in Gothenburg, Sweden ticket
Confetti from the Rammstein concert I went to in november
Piece of paper with "Morale?" written on it (I've had it in my wallet for ages... a friend of mine wrote all kinds of words on paper and handed them out to us)
Four-leafed clover
Old library card from the library where I used to live
Condom liscence. OK, explanation neededfor that one. No, you don't need a liscence to use condoms here, but as a gag the youth information thingy give out "liscences" to those they've instructed in proper use of condoms. I, of course, find this too funny for words. Especially since they use HUGE polystyrene (?) woodies mounted on tables. Not exactly a challenge there! Anyway, I keep this in my wallet because it looks funny. Not that anyone really cares anyway! Hah.. :)

Hair and nudges!

I was talking to my friend Eileen on MSN the other day, and she had a webcam hooked up. "Hmm... I want one of those also," I thought, 'cause then I could give her the finger back when she gave me one.
OK, looked some up on the net. Nah.. But wait! The EyeToy cam? Looked for drivers for it, installed them and voilà! Webcam!
Only thing was... damn, how awful my hair looked! YIKES! So yesterday I rushed into town and had my hair cut. Waaay shorter than I indended, but it looks good :D
And when I got up this morning, it was all over the place. That's the downside to cutting your hair short, without all the weight of the longer hair, it'll make you look like a hedgehog or something. Eeek!

Oh, and downloaded the new MSN Messenger yesterday. The beta version has been out for a while, and some of my friends have been nagging me to get it so that they can send me nudges, but beta? From Microsoft? Errrh... No! But now they are satisfied *nudge nudge, know what I mean, nudge nudge*

**edit I wonder if blogger finally will allow me to post this? It's 7.50 pm!

Wow!

Finished my paper. Finally. Yay!

Love, Simon and I went out for a picnic bbq today. Brought two blankets, food and hot water to make coffee and tea.
It was a bit windy today, so we went some place completely different than usual in hope of finding some shelter from the wind there. No such luck, but the new place? Simply beautiful. Out by the sea and... gorgeous! We definitively have to go back there when it gets warmer. Both Love and I are strangers here, we have no idea where the good spots are. Simon is a native and knows. Handy.

It's so strange to be living near by such beautiful spots of nature. I have always been very drawn to the ocean and felt at home there, but never actually lived near it. Now only a short walk away from here.

Cel Damage

Besides being obscenely busy with my paper (due tomorrow, EEEEEK!), I joined Love and Simon on the hunt for a CardCam. Didn't find one, but found something else.
One shop we stopped by had a sale on computer/gamecube/PS/xbox games. Older titles of course, but still. 100 kr for 5 games (ca. 16$) Usually, gamecube games cost about 500-600kr here, so naturally this was a bargain! :D
So, we got BloodRayne (for PS2), the Zelda collectors disk (yay!), Doshin the Gigant, Metroid Prime (!) and Cel Damage.
I've only tested Cel Damage so far, haven't really had the time to do that either, but had to. It's hilarious! It's a kind of demolition derby, with toonsy characters and cars. My favorite character is called Dominique Trix, drives a pink cadillac with cow-patterned seats and says things like "Lick my boots!", "You look good in handcuffs" and "You've been bad!"

Why do I always have to have a title?

I'm a good girl. Well, almost. So far I've written almost 6 pages on my 10-15 page home exam thingy. Only problem is, I'm starting to run out of material to write about! Eeek!
Oh well... I still have some opinions and observations to make, so maybe it will be enough to meet the page requirements. We'll see.

But my biggest problem is the weather! For a week we've had bright sunshine and decent temperatures out, and it kills me to have to sit indoors working on this ******* thingy. I want to be outdoors, doing something outdoorsy! I feel so completely guilty for staying indoors when this weather is what I've been longing for all winter. And next week the forecasts all say the temperature will drop and we'll have rain. Uggh... No fair! Oh, but I still have studying to do next week, so maybe it's for the best. I have to study like a maniac for the oral exam in litterature knowledge, the subject this stupid home exam is about too. The home exam counts for 40% of the grade in this subject, the oral exam counts for the rest of the grade, 60% for those of you who are as lousy in maths as I am.
So naturally I have to make an effort. Only problem is I have absolutely no idea where the bar is, what level they expect of us. We haven't done any assignments in this subject at all, and not really had any information on how to write what we're supposed to write either. Practical, huh?

Being busy and planning a possible road trip.

I apologize for not updating that often these days. I have a ton of photos sitting on my desk that I want you to see also, but I'm... late with my stupid home exam. Or, deadline is on Wednesday next week so I still have a few days, but this ended up being frightfully last minute work. Again... I always do that. I have no real dicipline unless I have a big, scary deadline hanging over my shoulder. So.. Photos will show up eventually, some time next week maybe. Although when I'm done with this paper, I need to start cramming for the oral exam in litterature history, which I've also neglected.. Bad Kjersti! *smacks herself*

Another thing that's on my mind these days is the possibility for a summer vacation. I would love to have one, and I know exactly where I want to go. Germany, of course! We're considering taking Pea with us over to Denmark (by boat, don't feel like driving all the way around) and spend two-three days driving until we get to my family in Germany. It would be possible to do in one stretch, a seven hour drive, but that would mainly be driving on the autobahn. The autobahn in Germany is, to me, completely crazy. There's no speed limit, and even Opa (my grandpa) keeps up the speed there. Pea wouldn't be able to. I mean, she can do 100 kmph, 120 kmph downhill (LMAO!), but we're talking 140-150 kmph on average there. We would be slowing down the whole lane, and not to mention... the risk of over-heating and having an engine fire. So, we would take the smaller roads, drive through some nice little villages and have one or two nights on b&b's. A little road trip. Going to go to the library today to see if they have a map book so that we can at least have a little look.
Oh, and the best thing about the whole deal? If we went, we wouldn't tell my aunt. Again... *evil laughter* It would be a surprise visit, just pull up to her house and honk. We would have to tell my grandparents in advance though, 'cause they're a little too old and fragile to take another surprise like that, but auntie? She sure can handle another one.
See, we've done it once before! *big grin* Mum vacations in Germany every summer, and two years ago, love and I made a sneaky plan. I had just gotten home from a months visit there, and mum was leaving in a week. I felt totally miserable, the way you feel miserable after getting home from a great vacation, and I also found it very sad that I couldn't be with my mum and auntie at the same time (they're both some of my best friends). So love suggested we looked into going there after them, as a surprise visit. We booked the flight one day after mum's, looked up a nice b&b close to my auntie and found train charts from the airport to where auntie lives. This was before I moved in with love, but I was visiting him after not seeing him for a month, and then he came with me home to keep me company there for two weeks (or, that's what we told mum).
Anyway, we flew down, hopped on the train and a few hours later I was on auntie's doorstep. Oh, the fun that was! Of course, ever since that, she now always says to me "so, you coming over tomorrow or what?"
And, if I get it my way I will. Without telling her. Shssss it's a secret!
