Ehn... Just don't.
I know some of you might not be used to this kind of weather, and that also this year's weather is (a tad bit) wacky, and not all of you may have winter tyres. I also know that I shouldn't be smug in any way about this, because I've had my share of sliding around too.
But to you, person in the first car, who treats this weather as your personal demolition derby: please reconsider driving ever again.
Slippery, no traction or grip at all and then pedal to the metal? Seriously? GAH!
Yes, sometimes a little momentum is needed to get anywhere, but keep in mind momentum is only good for getting going. The safest approach is to snail along as slowly as you can, because you're sitting inside at least a ton and a half of metal and that will not stop when you want it to under these conditions. And if you have to make a turn, too bad... You would have more luck stopping your car completely, then getting out and pushing it into position.
Or better yet, leave the car at home and cancel your plans, have a cup of cocoa and read a dirty book.
