A Filler Post, waiting for something more essential to write about

The Proust Questionnaire.
(snatched from karla)

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Having no big issues to worry about. Or, if I can't have that: snuggling up to Love on the couch or in bed. Never underestimate a warm and fuzzy man.

What is your greatest fear?
Love has named me "Piglet" for a reason: I have many fears. Fires are the biggest worry I suppose, and now that I'm reading "The Swarm" I'm terrified of bristle worms, bacteria and underwater methane. There IS no high ground around here, and I live by the coast. I am so screwed. Why doesn Schätzinger have to write so realisticly? When they make this book into a movie I simply REFUSE to see it.

What historical figure do you most identify with?
If I said Elizabeth Bathory, you'd be very concerned, wouldn't you? No, really, I don't know. Historical figures tend to be significant, otherwise they wouldn't be historical figures, and I guess I don't feel I'm that significant in the big picture just yet. No cure for cancer found (by me) and no world peace brought to man kind. Not that I'm setting high standards for myself or anything *laughs*

Which living person do you most admire?
Maybe because I'm listening to The Ark right now, but I have huge respect for Ola Salo as a songwriter and performer. I also adore Tim Burton for his wonderful visions he transforms into even more wonderful films.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
My tendency to regularly gulp down a slice of self pity for breakfast.

What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Lack of tolerance.

What is your greatest extravagance?
Books

What is your favorite journey?
The short trips I've had with Love rank pretty high, both Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Piety

On what occasion do you lie?
I lie all the time. Especially at work, when I can't always speak my mind. Loony lady who insists on getting that specific coin and asking me "you must think I'm a complete loon?", she gets the mandatory "no, of course not" (I think you're a complete nut job who should be locked up, that's what I think!). The man who verbally attacked me because he couldn't get some extra cash when paying with visa because there WAS NO extra cash to hand out, he didn't get the "Fuck you, mister!" he deserved, no, he got a "have a nice day, sir." (but I admit that taking that approach sometimes is way much more fun than screaming at them)

What do you dislike about your appearance?
Meh. Depends on my mood when you ask me. Sometimes everything, other times it's OK.

Which living person do you most despise?
Dubya ranks as high, that's for sure. But there are many other arseholes that deserves sound lashing.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Heh, it seems to be "Love, have you seen my...?" a lot here also.

What is your greatest regret?
There were a couple of things in the past, which seemed very significant at the time, but now I couldn't care less. The way I see it, my actions and choices is what has shaped me into who I am, and if I had chosen differently I might not have learned what I know now.

Who is the greatest love of your life?
Love, of course. This summer we've been together for five years and it keeps getting better all the time.

When and where were you happiest?
I have very rosy memories of our summer holidays in Denmark. Even that one year where we only had mum's tiny red Fiat Uno, and it rained for much of those two weeks and the car had to be pushed into starting. Oh, the memories...

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd love to rid myself of the occasional melancholy. I'd love to have faith in my own abilities and to be less dependant on other people's approval to be satisfied with my own work.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Having a loving and solid relationship. It has completely changed how I view the world!

If you could choose what to come back as, what would it be?
No animal, that's for sure. Or, maybe a dolphin because they seem to be able to babble on like humans. But they don't get to drink coffee, so that's a problem... No, I think I'd still be human.

What is your most treasured possession?
I was going to say my new camera, but that could easily be replaced if something happens to it. So... The diary mum wrote while pregnant with me. It's by my bedside, so that I can take it with me if I need to flee a fire or something.

What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
Deep self pity. Feeling like even shit is more useful than you.

Where would you like to live?
Right now somewhere 1000 meters above the ocean level. Damn book!

What is your favorite occupation?
Writing.

What is your most marked characteristic?
I'm hoping my loyalty to those I care for. I also tend to be snarky.

What is the quality you most like in a man?
Here I should post a photo of Love, really. I never thought there was such a thing as a the perfect man, but there really is. No, you can't have him.

What is the quality you most like in a woman?
Intelligence and humour.

What do you most value in your friends?
Humour, wits, loyalty.

Who are your favorite writers?
Gert Nygårdshaug, Johan Borgen, JRR Tolkien, Sophie Kinsella, Jane Austen.

Who is your favorite hero of fiction?
Elisabeth Bennet

What is it that you most dislike?
Selfishness. Rudeness.

How would you like to die?
Err... I never really thought about that. I guess we're all afraid of pain, so it would be nice to go in my sleep or something.

What is your motto?
Don't pick up crickets. They bite.
