I'm here!

I'm still around here somewhere. I have plenty to write too, but I haven't had the oompfh to do it.

For starters, I introduce to you these two furballs.

Chi

and Rosa

They're seven weeks old. It wasn't planned, but they were there and we couldn't leave them. Rosa reminded me so much of Pinky, and Love insisted we took her sister also.
For now we're enjoying having babies in the house again. They're so inquisitive, and absolutely fearless. Not to mention very loud.
Nice to have the herd back to a reputable size again... People think we're nuts and maybe we are.

Lots of new things the last couple of weeks, when I think of it. The old vacuumer bit the dust (haha), and it being a very tight month last month (no student loans, and paycheck from may where I hardly worked at all because I had all the exam stuff going on), we waded two weeks in dust and splurged on a new, "expensive" vacuumer when Love got his holiday paycheck ("expensive" means expensive to ordinary people, but not expensive like the vacuumer Love's parents got). But damn, having a vacuumer that actually sucks is brilliant! It has a special nozzle for carpets, and suddenly the IKEA rugs in our bedroom looks as good as new. Artificial fibre carpets... meh, might as well put glue on the floor, that's how they attract dust.
The vacuumer is so great I actually did a little victory dance during the first trial run. I had no idea how perfect life could be with a decent vacuumer...

Moving on to more new stuff

Out of the blue Love started calling me Imelda Marcos. I have no idea why. I mean, I don't even really like shoes. Except maybe those gladiator-like sandals in that photo. They're gorgeous. And I can walk a couple of steps in them too. Not walk all across Oslo, like I tried last Monday (and ended up shuffling barefeet back to the car because I had blisters all over my feet and BTW Karla, the boller at United Bakeries weren't yummy at all, they were too salty and not cardamummy enough, if I want salty I eat a danish, but I don't want salty and don't like danishes either).
No. I prefer walking barefeet. Honestly. And if I have to wear shoes, I like them a bit wacky. The anarchick kitty shoes? Purrfect. Stilettoes? Still working on that...
But why all those shoes? My town has one day a year where all the shops try to get rid of all the old stuff they haven't sold and need to get out of the shop so that they can have room for new stuff. These four (actually five, I got mum those gladiator sandals too) pairs of shoes cost me 200kr (ca. 33$). Of course, one can say they aren't really sensible shoes and no one needs four pairs of useless shoes... but still, pretty cool. Maybe I like some shoes better than others. As long as they're unsensible, wacky or very cheap. Yeah!

We tidied up the attic at my parents house and I found so many old friends there. My old Keypers for instance! I have the swan and the kangaroo (which I always assumed was a squirrel). I also snagged all of our old Legos and mum's kitty, Erich. I was obsessed with Erich when I was a toddler, but mum never let me have him. But now I was apparently old enough. Mum also made sure I got all my old baby toys with me, telling me "you never know when you might need it".

There's probably more to tell. And more photos to show. But it's late, we've spent the day tidying up the apartment and I'm pooped. So we'll talk more another day and hopefully it will be soon :)

Hello? I'm here! Please need me!

On the bright side: I have new shoes.

Also on the bright side: Summer arrived June 1st, just in time for the Medieval Festival. And the festival was so much fun. I have photos, but haven't resized and uploaded them yet.

Downside: Finding a new job at the moment feels like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. There are hardly any positions available, and those who are which I of course apply to, never call me back. Bah...
I'm not even asking that. I would be a very grateful employee indeed, and I'd do my work faithfully. Bah...

Crack *giggles* of dawn

There's something deeply unnatural about getting up at 4 a.m.
But that's how it is, when you want to be done at work at 3, and you have a 9 hour shift. I'm just hoping the date and time on this entry is correct so that I can prove it! ;)

I have a complete package planned for this weekend. Later today, my sister and a friend comes to visit, and they get to see all the scary movies I have while I go to a celebrate-three-years-of-worthless-education-and-saying-goodbye-to-classmates kind of thing.
Then later this weekend there's the biannual medieval festival, and I'm really looking forward to that one! They've decorated town with banners and serpentines already, it looks very pretty. There'll be jousting, concerts and a big marked of crafts and hopefully those yummy meat balls we had last time.
If you're in the neighbourhood, be sure to check it out, it's great
