Come Christmas, us be ready.
Dude. Everything's covered. Presents? Check. Time off? Check. Candy? Check. Dinner? Eh... Mum makes that, or, I think I'll help this year because she's working. I am so glad I don't work night shifts. I mean, someone has to take care of the elderly and they require supervision at all hours of the day, but geez, that is so not my line of work. I don't have the compassion, I think, or the patience. Or maybe I haven't mopped my way through all the icky, sticky stuff that kids produce (poo, puke, snot and so on). Maybe having to help old ladies figure out why all their photos come out blurry is enough for me (the photos, BTW, usually either the lady doesn't allow the camera to focus or someone's been pushing buttons they don't know what are for and have activated the fireworks mode).
But all my holiday preparations are practically done. All that's missing is the pepperkaker. I'll bake them this weekend, yay! Unfortunately I will be working the next four weekends, meh. Well, the work-part is why all our preparations are done already, because it will be a lot of it the following weeks. But it's OK, really. I still enjoy producing photos, so a busy day is simply fun.
I don't get much time to enjoy the new apartment though. It's so dark out at the moment, it's dark when I go to work and it's dark when I get back home. Not many weeks left until it turns, and that's a relief! But I have no worries lighting candles here now. In the old apartment everything was so... dunno... unsafe, I never dared light many candles. But here we have the fireplace, and on top of that is a perfect safe spot for candles.
I still enjoy coming home though. It doesn't feel like home yet, but it's getting there. And so far I haven't seen a spider yet!
Oh. And guess what I've got! Pneumonia! Albeit a small one, as the doctor said, but enough to earn me two weeks of revolting antibiotics. It's helping though, I feel so much better already. Too bad it came to late, as we were supposed to go away for the weekend with Love's work, up in the mountains somewhere, apparently very nice. Bah... I'm so bummed out I missed that one, but I simply had to stay at home and recover from being ill.
I got some cough syrup though. That's always fun. But I'm not coughing any more, so I don't need it. I still have some of that from last year's bronchitis, but I tried it one night earlier this week and damn, there were the pink elephants again. Geez, that stuff is strong! I'd make one lousy druggie, I'd be so freaked out by the effects of the drugs, I would stop taking them instantly. But that's a good thing I guess.
Anyone want a pepperkake?
