Miss Fix It!
Yesterday was my last weekday off before the "big" day. It's still some time left until we tie the knot, but I'll soon be rid of working Saturdays (and loosing the now and then Wednesday compensational day off).
Soo... a whole l.o.t of stuff had to be taken care of yesterday.
First we visited the bakery to order our cake. Because we wanted a custom cake, we had to talk to the bakers themselves, not just the shop people, and that meant showing up at the bakery. They were nice. And said they could manage a chocolate cake with white marzipan covering it. It'll have ivy leaves on it too, and pretty ornamentation.
Weeee! We'll supply them with our own topper, a very cute white fairy tale castle.
That's if it arrives safely though... A bit nervous about ordering from abroad by a company that doesn't do international shipping or is of an amazon-like size.
But I'm sure it's fine. I'll be pretty pissed if it isn't and I do phone internationally for free, so they should just be careful ;)
Flowers: I think I adore our florist. She had so many great ideas and also agreed to stick to our budget. She's making me a custom bouquet with ivy and that's about everything I know. She wanted to think for a couple of days before making a specific suggestion, but she seems like an impulsive and creative lady, and not to mention I've seen her work before.
VERY excited about the flowers, I must say.
We also ordered our rings yesterday. They'll be quite ordinary gold wedding bands, with our names engraved, but we got to choose a profile and width, so it's still feels a bit custom. I had no idea rings could look that different, but they do.
Today I ordered the place card holders and favours we wanted. Favours aren't normally used in Norway, but I think it's a nice touch. FMIL talked about giving each guest a rose, but they don't last long, do they?
Yes. It's still all about wedding. I'm pretty sure that's all I'll blog about for the next two months.
Or, maybe I'll throw in some stuff about my new job, who knows?
