The network economy is now a reality. New work processes are under way. What happens next?
In this world of wireless freedom the potential of the physical disuse syndrome is real, therefore I spend time to secure my physical wellbeing. My main activities are skiing, running and biking.
My professional self: Graduated from the Technical University of Norway in technical cybernetics. Focus was mathematics and simulation. For a few years I worked with computing. I have worked 27 years with Statoil, and I have been involved with oil and gas exploitation since the summer of 1974. Maybe I turned into petroleum engineer during my first 15 years in the oil and gas business. During the last 20 years I have been involved in project development and production, - as well as exploration. The fascination for working with safety started as Platform Manager on Statfjord A. Step change for safety is followed with curiosity. Health is closely linked to safety. Some references to safety research .
From 1991 and until year 1999 I was leading the development of Åsgard , - an asset far away from the market. This task had a lot of history
when the take off started during 1995, the year the field complex was named. It
really started at the Statoil grillparty in 1994. The
challenges were many. Åsgard
represented 10 years ago a significant technological transition and the
From Statoil annual report and accounts 2006, page 9: “Åsgard is the boldest and most complex subsea project ever launched” wrote Leo Aalund, technology editor of Oil and Gas Journal in 1998. This field ranks as the world’s largest subsea development, with 58 wells in 16 templates
Then, for 5.5 years I was in charge of the Sleipner area, consisting of the assets Sleipner Øst, Sleipner Vest, Gugne and Sigyn . Sleipner is in the middle of the Norwegian gas machine. Now Ormen Lange is tied to Sleipner. The projects Sigyn, Sleipner Vest Compression, Alpha North were completed and the Langeled node project initiated execution in this periode.
Sleipner is widely known for CO2 extraction and injection. At the Statoil.com you will find a CO2 animation also.
For 3 years I worked as process owner for operation, maintenance and modification in Statoil at a corporate level, having interface with 25 large plants. The theme of organizational learning and knowledge management was important in this function.
I now work as managing director of Bergen Group Rosenberg. This is interesting and challenging, and a good experience to see things from the other side of the fence.
I have received a wider perspective through external connections. For
several years I lead the board for Offshore 2010 under the Norwegian Reasearch Council and I
have been Statoil member in committee for Development and operation under OLF. Health and Safety was sponsored and SfS Samarbeid for sikkerhet was
born. For 3 years I was
My membership of Society of Organizational Learning means a lot for my perspective. During participating in a recent Presencing workshop learned about the Mont Fleur project and The sustainable food laboratory which gives hope about learning in the widest sense. The basis for presencing are numerous interviews with leading scientists and entrepreneurs
