Study Group - SG 1.1
Study objective: “Cost - effectiveness increase in E & P”
This study work is part of the current tritenium program of IGU.
The work will be finalized by June 2003 at the 22. World
Gas Congress in Tokyo
The theme of this conference will be: "Catalyzing an eco - responsible
future"
The purpose of the SG 1.1 work is to collect relevant best practices throughout our industry with regard to cost - effectiveness increase in E&P, formulate learnings and make available and spread the learnings. This study group also want to support the theme of the 22. World Gas Conference.
This work we will be dependant on good communication within SG 1.1.The study group members will also be highly dependant on good communication with selected upstream gas producers.
The purpose of this page is to ease communication within SG 1.1 and to provide a common platform for communication with our third party associates.
SG 1.1 will focus on projects under development or ongoing producing operations. In this way there will be no overlap with SG 1.2, the technology group of WOC1.

The SG 1.1 members will have a unique opportunity to learn more about upstream best practices. In addition we will through our work enhance our professional network.
The content of the study work:
1) Idententify selected companies / assets who have achieved breakthrough in cost effectiveness improvement.
2) Focus the following areas of our business
with respect to cost effectiveness improvement:
Detailed data
gathering will take place within these focused areas such that the study
group may understand and document the direct and underlying causes of success.
3) Analyze material and recommend directions
(ways, methods) which provide cost effectiveness improvement
potential for our industry
The direct causes may be application of technology, new ways of instrumentation, new material etc. The underlying causes may be change in management style, new work processes, changes in frame conditions which forces dramatic changes to take place.
