(SK 96, Norway - FIDE-ELO 2386)
Got his FIDE-ELO after taking the 10'th place in last years tournament, half a point from IM-Norm.
After winning national attention as one out of several highly promising Bergen juniors in the early 1980s, among other representing Norway in the World Junior Championship 1982, Manne later let most of the chess go for a successful academic career. Despite playing almost only club-tournaments with a low average on the opponents, he still keeps his Norwegian ELO around 2100. The last part of the 1990s he has only played team-matches and a few local tournaments, but in those still delivered noteworthy games.
A positional and sensible player not without creativity, he has a varied but somewhat old-fashioned opening reportoire. Lack of matching from the top level should be his main problem here. A more concrete illustration of this is the unhappy combination of often getting short of time, and seldom impressing when forced to play fast.
