One
interest that has had a strong hold on me through
out a large part of my life is photography. I've
got a 30 year old Canon F1 with a nice collection
of lenses and other goodies and an even older Roleiflex,
a 1952 model. I
know most people prefer more modern equipment with
all their gismos and dingbats, but then it is so
easy to forget that it isn't cameras that take pictures,
its you. The result depends upon what you see and
how you want to show me what you've seen. Both
my cameras are without any automatic functions what
so ever. But I like them. I like their feel, their
weight, their honesty. When using them they are
almost like a part of my hands. I
thought I might show you three of my photo series
here, one taken with the old Roleiflex and two with
the F1. All
series show that photograph is what it has always
been, shadows and light, and the objects they touch.
