My latest CCD camera is the Artemis 4021,
purchased oct. 2007 from Artemis CCD and Steve Chambers. It came
in a box with with a nice manual and CD with drivers and all
cables. It uses the Kodak KAI4021 sensor which has 2048x2048
(4.19 Million) 7.4x7.4um pixels. Quantum Efficiency is 55%. Well
Depth of 40,000 electrons The camera needs a telescope
providing a 21.3mm flat field.
You can see the chip size difference, the Starlight Express
SXV-H9 on the right. The red camera is looking very nice.
The Artemis weight is 700 gr. and the Starlight H9 a little
less than 400 grams.
Artemis 4021 has the same female t-threads as the Starlight
making the swich to a new camera easy and the FLI CFW fit right
on the Artemis.
Distance from CCD to front of camera is 17mm, 5mm shorter
than the H9. The 1.25" filter should cover the chip, but as you
can see its close and with fast focal ratio scopes it may be a
