Logg 2006

Travels to Lyngoer to pick up my new Doyle Clear Advantage sails. One main, and a genua 1. They must be stored on a roll, wich means we has to have them on the roof of the car the 9hour drive back to Bergen.

20/4 First test of the new sails. They both looks great. The profile in them looks very good. The main is easy to trim to alter the profile in the sail. My father is however not so pleased with the genua 1. It seems to be impossible to get enough tension in the luff. After some adjustments on the deck layout, Tord is pleased. We are both eager to test them in a race the comming saturday.

28/4 As stated in the results section we were unable to participate in the race, due to problems with raising the main sail. However the vind was 15m/s, so using the new sails were out of the question annyway.

14/5 Exterior repairs on Insanitys starboard side finally complete. She was damaged this winter during a storm. The damage was luckily just cosmetic, and she is now good as new. I have also removed some sails and a spinnaker, because of the new (and totally stupid) rules of the norwegian handicap system.

29/8 Finally on land... I`ve maintained the hull by free diving for two years now, and there was almost no antifouling left (pictures). The whole hull was sanded down, removing all old antifouling and primer. She was then primed with Internationals Tar2, and brushed with VC17 antifouling. This treatment increased speed with 18-20% (mesured with engine).
